Letterforms play a huge role in design and are used to communicate not only information but also the appropriate tone. These three drop cap studies were part of a much larger extra credit project offered where students could create a decorative drop cap and post it online every day of the school week for an entire semester. This exercise gave me an unparalleled opportunity to explore my style and increase my understanding of adobe illustrator as I attempted to outdo myself every day. It challenged me to research on my own time new techniques within illustrator in order to keep my daily letters looking unique.  Out of the seventy letters I designed and posted over the course of that semester, I have included my 6 favorite solutions.
